Facebook Messenger Hits Apple Watch
Apple announced at its press event on Wednesday that Facebook Messenger is coming to Apple Watch enabling users to communicate with the increasingly popular app from their wrists.
Users will be able to send messages in text and audio as well as share their location from the app.
Facebook Messenger has 700 million users. It recently surpassed YouTube in terms of app reach.
Earlier this year, Messenger became available to anyone globally even without a Facebook account. It also added gaming functionality and has become more of an app platform, which presents more interesting opportunities for the app in the future. Facebook is also working on turning it into a business-to-consumer communication tool.
Apple also announced some new Watch colors and bands in addition to WatchOS 2.
